About USL W League
The USL W League is the premier pre-professional league in North America aimed toward developing the next generation of women’s talent. The USL W League aims to build both elite players on the field and principled individuals off the field, with its member clubs using the platform of women’s soccer to promote opportunity, gender equity, and career development. Serving as the pipeline between college and professional soccer, the USL W League is committed to growing the women’s game through high-level competition and societal initiatives.
The USL W League was founded on June 8th, 2021, and kicked off its inaugural season only a year later in May of 2022. AMSG FC is the latest addition to the USL W League’s 93-team roster and will begin play in USL Womens in 2025.
Competition Format
The 2025 USL W League season is taking place from early May to mid-July, and will feature 495 games played by 93 teams across 15 divisions. The 2025 season will also mark the first for the newly formed SoCal Division, featuring five founding clubs including AMSG. Each division will play 10-12 matches against their divisional opponents, split between home and away games. Playoffs begin with Conference Semifinals on July 4th, with divisional winners earning a spot to compete, in addition to several wild card teams from their respective conferences. Winners will move onto the Conference Finals and a selected team will host all matches for its conference. Following these matches are the W League Semifinals in mid-July, culminating in the W League Final which has traditionally been played in late July.
