HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. – Today the USL announced that AMSG FC will begin play in USL League Two in 2024. The club will be adding to the already robust League Two scene in Southern California.
AMSG was founded as a professional development organization in 2019 by current club president Ismaiel Alkayali. Alkayali is an alumnus of USL League Two himself, and after a successful college career and numerous professional trials, he decided to take the step into coaching.
“We as a club are extremely excited to be a part of a pre-professional league that does everything for their players to take the next step. As a club that strives in every detail for their players to become the best professionals on and off the field, we need the right environment to do so,” Alkayali said. “We are here to not only guide amazing talents, but enhance the community, fanbase, and culture in North Orange County. USL League Two provides that environment and exposure in a beautiful way ensuring that if you do the right things, you can get there.”
The club aims to be a hotbed of professional development for players in Orange County. In the future, AMSG plans to establish a full academy pathway to a USL League Two first team for players to develop from childhood to a professional career.
“Ismaiel and everyone at AMSG really understand what this league is about,” Joel Nash, USL SVP of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties, said. “We’re really excited to watch how they develop players in Orange County, and we know they’re going to be a great addition to the area.
