PERSONAL
Jaxson Hutcheon was born in Laguna Beach, California. He is the son of Jennifer Moira Hutcheon and Scott Lawrence Hutcheon. Both of his parents played soccer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He has two younger brothers, Auston and Landon. Jaxson has participated in community service through beach cleanups and the Basket Brigade, creating and distributing baskets to families in need. He earned the Gold Card all four years of high school and was recognized as an Academic Scholar-Athlete.

HIGH SCHOOL
Attended Laguna Beach High School, graduating in June 2024. Played three years of varsity soccer as a striker under coach Andy Thomas. Earned varsity letters as a sophomore, junior, and senior, serving as team captain in his senior season. Led the team in goals for two of three seasons, averaging 2.3 goals per game. Honors include First Team Conference, Offensive MVP, and Overall MVP. Also competed on the high school surf team, earning Most Improved recognition.

2024 (Freshman, Loyola Marymount): 
– The 2024 CCAA Freshman of the Year.
– All-CCAA honorable mention.
– Tallied five goals and one assist with the Toros.

Before UMass: Spent a season at Loyola Marymount.

• His Parents are Jeremy and Maggie Moyer and has a brother, Luke

• Enjoys exercise, playing with his dog, and going to the beach

2024 (So.): Played in all 21 matches and made 15 starts … Scored three goals and made two assists … Scored match-winnner against No. 6 Saint Louis.

2023 (Fr.): Saw three starts in 19 games of play … Scored in the season opener against UTRGV … Logged an assist versus UCA … Had five shots on goal across 617 minutes of play.

Top Drawer Soccer Preseason All-American (2023)

Prep: A two-time Offensive MVP in high school, Mitchell comes to SMU after receiving the All-CIF Southern Section Team Award … Playing for La Mirada High School, he logged 40 goals and 18 assists off of 51 games … Mitchell also notched two league titles while playing club soccer for Slammers FC ECNL.

FRESHMAN (2025)
Appeared in 15 games with five starts during the 2025 season… Recorded four points on two goals. 

HIGH SCHOOL
